$45 Rolling Fee
Expect $60 to $125 Total Cost
The Live Scan Guy can also help your church, school, or other organization apply for an account with the California DOJ so you can have your employees and volunteers fingerprinted. See bottom of page about the price for consultation.
Be prepared to pay a total of $60 to $125, including the rolling fee along with DOJ/FBI fees.
It could be up to $350 if for a Secondhand Dealer/Pawnbroker license.
Check if the Request for Live Scan form you were given has a Billing Number listed. If so, your cost is only the rolling fee (the California DOJ will bill the agency/business/organization directly for DOJ/FBI fees).
Multiple Applicants, Discounts, Other Locations
For events in which multiple people are to be fingerprinted, the Live Scan Guy is willing to travel most anywhere in Northern California. Call (925) 698-7581 to discuss the per person fees, possible discounts, and other costs or charges.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
DOJ and FBI Fees Generally Range from $15 to $49
Unless a Billing Number is included on the Request for Live Scan form, you will be required to additionally pay California DOJ and/or FBI fees at the time of the Live Scan, which will be collected by the Live Scan Guy along with the rolling fee. The DOJ/FBI fees usually vary from $15 to $49, but can even be higher. It depends on why the background check is being requested. Those fees will be determined during the fingerprinting session, based on the Request for Live Scan form. Click here for the price list on the DOJ website.
Therefore, including DOJ/FBI fees and the rolling fee, be prepared to pay between $60 to $125 for a Live Scan in Pleasanton or Dublin. Cost may also vary depending on factors listed below.
Rolling Fee Explained
The rolling fee is the amount AngelVetting will charge you in addition to the DOJ/FBI fees. A rolling fee is the price charged for the service of rolling fingerprints.
AngelVetting’s rolling fee is $45 anywhere in Pleasanton or Dublin (except Pleasanton addresses north of 580 or in Ruby Hills).
Distance Charge for Travel Beyond Pleasanton/Dublin
A distance charge is added to the fee to cover driving time and expense. It is calculated according to the drive time from the intersection of 580 and 680. This increased cost can be negotiated, so call (925) 698-7581 and explain where you are and if you are a business/organization who may need future Live Scans. Discounts may be given when multiple applicants are fingerprinted or for a regular customer.
The price increases by $10 for any location beyond the borders of Dublin or Pleasanton (including Pleasanton addresses north of 580 and Ruby Hills).
The price moreover increases an additional $1 per mile or per minute of drive time (whichever is greater) from the 580/680 intersection, one way according to Google maps.
Be There at the Time Scheduled to Avoid a Late Fee
If you arrive at the designated meeting place late (or later than The Live Scan Guy arrives, if he arrives late), $1 per minute will be charged to you as a late fee.
Even with the additional distant fee, AngelVetting’s price is likely competitive with Live Scan providers near you.
If you want to save some money, The Live Scan Guy is willing to meet you at a public place closer to—or within the borders of—Pleasanton or Dublin. Call (925) 698-7581 to discuss that, or click here to schedule a time and place.
